Tread
We offer a range of tires with tread patterns from smooth to deep lug. Smooth tires are designed for indoor operating environments, while our lug patterns are engineered to grip a variety of surfaces, both indoor and outdoor. From extreme lug/void patterns for the most severe terrains to block patterns that can be used across multiple surfaces, we have the right tread for your needs.

Compound and Color
We prioritize quality for our customers, which is why our tires are made from either natural rubber or polyurethane.

Natural Rubber
Natural rubber tires provide excellent shear resistance, superior load-bearing capability, and high cut resistance compared to synthetic rubber. These qualities ensure reliable performance and durability, with a durometer rating between 60 and 70, indicating their hardness.
Color Options
Our rubber tire compounds are available in universal black and non-marking gray or white. Additionally, our polyurethane tire manufacturers use various colors to indicate the compound’s durometer rating.

Polyurethane
Our polyurethane tires are ideal for electric lifts, offering extra carrying capacity to counteract the additional weight of the battery while maintaining high performance. These tires have a long lifespan when used appropriately, although they provide a firmer ride for the operator compared to natural rubber. Polyurethane tires have a durometer rating between 80 and 95.

At Georgia Industrial Tire, we purchase direct from the tire manufacture to offer you the highest quality tires at wholesale prices. We stand behind all our tires, each of which comes with a warranty against manufacturing defects. Below, you can learn more about the types of tires we offer, including tread patterns, colors, different compounds, and the sizes we stock.
Tire Types
Choosing the right tire for your equipment is critical to the handling and safety of your forklift. Many forklifts are designed for specific applications, and manufacturers specify the best tire type and size for the job. Georgia Industrial Tire provides the following types of tires:

Solid Cushion
Our cushion tires are made of smooth, solid natural rubber adhered to a metal rim band. Since forklifts don’t have suspension systems, this tire “cushions” the vehicle for a smoother ride, benefiting both the driver and the load. Cushion tires are best for smooth surface applications, primarily indoors or on loading docks. These tires are designed for a smaller turning radius, making them ideal for manufacturing facilities with limited space
Pneumatic Air
Pneumatic air tires work well outdoors on asphalt, gravel, and in yards but can be easily punctured. Pneumatic air tires provide a softer ride than solids, so consideration of the lift’s workload and operating environment should be made before making your buying decision.

Polyurethane Solids
Polyurethane tires, or “polys,” are a lightweight, indoor-only option that provides good traction with low rolling resistance. Polys, adhered to a metal rim band like solid cushion tires, are most often found on electric forklifts as they can carry the additional weight of the battery along with the workload. Polys have a higher durometer rating (80+) than rubber (65) to support a heavier workload but offer a harder ride. We offer polys with ratings from 83 (soft) to 95 (heavy load-bearing).

Foam Filled
Some pneumatic air tires can be filled with polyurethane foam instead of air to harden (cure) and create a “puncture-proof” tire. This type of tire is best used in outdoor applications where flats are a problem. A foam-filled tire, which takes 48+ hours to cure, will last as long as the rubber casing remains intact; therefore a foam-filled tire will not last as long as a solid tire. To minimize downtime due to foam-filling, we offer a Tire-Wheel Exchange program, where we will prefill tires on our wheels and exchange them for your tire and wheels.

Solid Pneumatic
Our solid pneumatic tires (also known as resilient tires) are made from a natural rubber formulation and offer high performance and versatility. These tires, which resemble traditional air-filled tires, provide strong grip on uneven surfaces and rough outdoor terrain, while also being suitable for indoor use. Solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber and are puncture-proof compared to pneumatic air tires.
